I suddenly had a random urge to try and remember all the horses i've ever ridden. So here goes:
Dewdrop- 16hh ish liver chestnut gelding. Died of colic. He was about when I was very little, I had my first ride on him at about 1!
Silver Lady- Crazy little 11.2hh dapple grey mare. Insane, but taught me to stick on. Absolutly gorgeous, but no brains. If she behaved, she would win any showing class. If not...
Snowy- Silver's opposite. Cute little white (grey) mare. About 12.hh I think. Not particularly pretty, but reliable and generally well behaved! Although I do remember her bolting and chucking me into a patch of nettles. Cheers for that.
Casper- 13.2 Palomino Gelding. My cousin's pony. Very cute but strong. Jumped and showed him a few times.
Rose of Shannon- Named after my cousin and I! Nice chestnut mare, 14.2 I think. Bit crazy, but pretty.
Silver Stone- My FAVORITE pony. 13.hh dapple grey gelding. My grandad broke him in (I helped!) and he was such a little star. I loved him so much, he was quite, gentle and well behaved all the time. He was sold on to a family, their son couldn't control him (WHAT!?) so he went on to be ridden in side-saddle classes, he won and Dublin horse show :)
Tilly Trotter- tiny little dapple grey mare, like 11hh? Owned by the family who bought Silver Stone. Had a bucking problem so their son, who sounds like the most wussy kid ever wouldnt ride her. I had to get on, she did buck me off twice, but then we went on to do a WH class and place 3rd (because she played up during the jumping round!). The judge told me I would have won if it wern't for that ;)
Jack- cousin's 14.2 jumping pony. Cute but strong.
Jill/Stardust/Grey Mare- Stardust is the official name on her passport. I WAS JOKING! But anyway she was renamed Jill to fit in with Jack, but usually refered to as the grey mare. 14.2 dapple grey. She was lovely to ride. I was going to buy her as my own, but she had some wind problem which ment she couldnt jump too much, so she was sold as a showing pony.
Rode a little black pony called Kermit for a bit.
At St Clemences Riding School, which is pretty crap, I remember a few ponies: Tinker, Topsy and James. All little and cute, around 11/12hh. Chestnut, Dun (?) and Black.
At Orston Riding Stables, the best ones were Teddy, Rudy, Sparky, Mr Whippy, Pickles, Fred, Sarah.
Teddy was a little chestnut, Rudy was a dun, Sparky was a cheeky roan mare, who kicked so was always at the back, Whippy was a really lazy grey, Pickles taught everyone to ride! An adorable liver chestnut pony. Sarah was a piebald welsh section C, quite cobby but my favorite for ages. Then I moved on to Fred, a speedy, tempermental chestnut gelding. He was much more fun.
Bertie- 13hh welsh bay gelding. I loaned him for about 6 months, loved him to bits, really clicked with him and we had a summer of competing when I was 11. But he had a heart attack and was found dead in his field. His picture is still by my bed :)
Oliver- 13.2 Liver Chestnut Gelding- arabx welsh= Oh Ollie. I have so much to say, I rode him for 5 years. I love him so much, I literally owe him everything. He taught me so much, but could buck like a maniac. Still at it apparently :')
Whilst at the Higg's I also got to ride their own horses:
Axel- 15.2 Dun Gelding, great jumper
Bailey- 18hh TB Bay Gelding
Jaffa- ISH 16.2 Black Gelding
Jack- 16hh TB chestnut Gelding
Then I suppose I moved on to my current horse, Buster! 15.1 Chestnut TB Gelding. Such a sweetie, I love him with all my heart :) Whilst at Newton i've also ridden Summer, a little 13hh bay newforest pony.
My friends ponies, Georgie and Bumble must be added to the list!
They have all taught me something!
